One evening the prophet Jacob encountered an unknown being. They wrestled through the dark hours of the night and in the morning he received a blessing. Who was this mysterious other that Jacob grappled with? It was his brother Esau. It was the Divine. And it was Jacob himself.
The prophets of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are living hearts who journey through life, encountering and grappling with themselves through a myriad of relationships with parents and children, brothers and sisters, friends and foes. Each prophet becomes themselves in relation to these others. And through their stories we can find insights into our own relationship with the other in the world and within ourselves.
